Malaga, Spain - Dec. 15-22, '07

Hotel Rui Ferrara Resort playing in the games room

At the airport in Malaga where Jacob is inspection one of his purchases. Nice jacket!

The dining at the hotel was fantastic! Breakfast and dinner was included.

Each evening, there was entertainment. Here, in the early evening, was the kids' disco.
Games again.

The resort was beautiful, but the outdoor pool was cold but some of the younger brave souls, couldn't stay out of the Mediterranean Sea or the hotel pool.
A little furry inhabitant, kept many old and young alike amused.
Hams in a grocery story.
Sara, getting her Spain souveneir stuffed.

Special birthday celebration on Dec. 19th as it was Cyndy and Andrea's birthdays. Thirty years apart and was a great celebration.

Playing games in the room where the evening entertainment was about to begin.
It was a dare and a bribe but they did get up and dance in front of the whole audience.

Birthday celebrations.

The Mediterranean Sea was cold and full of waves.

Kenny Reed, the first one to join the grandchildren. Wedding will be in August.

Went to Malaga centre one day and visited the old castle.

Gypsies going down the street singing after one of their services.

Downtown cathedral.
Castle again.

Malaga had cities of Bethlehem everywhere. Some, like this one, were very ellaberate. You could buy all the figures, buildings, etc in the downtown street markets to make your own.

Christmas decorations were all set up throughout the town.

One day, we went to Nerja and went to visit the caves of Nerja which they say began to develop over 30,000 years ago during the Palaeolithic Age. Remains of early Cro-Magnon man have been found here.
The Aguila Aqueduct was built in the early 19th C to bring water to the Maro Sugar Factory. The aqueduct has five stories of brick arches.

We were so blessed to be able to have this week with all our grandchildren there. The only sad part was that Stephen was missing but it was good that he was able to be here in Oct/Nov when Andrea was going through her surgery and treatments.

Streets of downtown Torrox where our hotel was situated. There was a festival on and we went to help celebrate.

More pictures of the caves of Nerja.

Lookout point in Nerja.

Games with the grandchildren.

Sara, dancing with the natives.

When there is a festival, there is lots of food.

Free wine on the streets.

It was alway sad to have to leave Spain but we are all looking forward to having Christmas at Mark and Cyndy's in Germany.
