I thought that by now I should know how to work this blog but I'm still confused and there is no one around here right now to show me otherwise so you are going to see these pictures in reverse. Cyndy and Mark took us to Nice, France the day we got to Germany which was on Oct. 3rd. We really had great weather and had a wonderful time - did we ever walk a lot. As Cyndy kept saying, we are just able to walk off the calories from all the delicious Frence food and wines that we were able to eat.

Jeanne was so impressed with all the runners on the US quay and their "stretching procedures" so she thought that she might get impressed to run too if she did the exercising. Sorry, it didn't work!!

They have large open flower and fruit markets in the day time. By afternoon the flowers come down and the restaurants begin to set up for their supper time. By evening the whole area is filled with tables and delicious smelling, and tasting food. The difficult thing is to try to pick one place to eat because there are so many.

Lonely sailboat on the Mediterranean.

Every so often, we did have to stop to take a rest, and no, we didn't always eat when we stopped.

The last day that we were in Nice, we did find a flea market but they too sold a lot of junk. Nothing we would have wanted to buy.

The second day that we were there, we took a train to Monaco. What a beautiful place that was! We had a great time exploring that city/country. Evidence of a lot of money!!

Oops! Here we are back in Nice looking over the US Quay and below is a war memorial of the two World Wars.

This was one hotel where we couldn't afford to stay but at least we could sit on their furniture. This hotel was like a museum with very expensive art and furniture dating back to who knows when. Cyndy and I managed to walk by the front door "police" but Mark and Jeanne hesitated at the door and they told them that they weren't allowed to come in because they weren't dressed appropriately.

Back in Monaco, I did tell Jeanne she should pick herself one of the yachts but she didn't think that I was serious. Wonder why!!

Shot of Nice.

Here is the flower market transformed to the "restaurant" phase.

The US Quay. Was named that because during a time when Nice was in dire straits. This was in the early 1900s and the US gave money to build this quay so that there would be employment for the inhabitants of Nice.

The Pince's Palace. The son of Prince Rainier, Albert II is no the prince of the Principality. We were in this palace and saw where the Prince and Princess Grace were buried.

Back in Nice.

Their breakfast is quite different from ours. They served coffee, not like ours, and croissants. We always enjoyed a cappicino each morning.

Crossing the harbour in Monaco. We weren't tired but just wanted to see what they place looked like from the water.

Mexican food in France? Yep and it was good.

Hope I didn't make you to sea sick by flipping from one city to the next. We have many more pictures but they will have to wait until we get home.
